Background

The Small and Medium Enterprise [SME] sector which is expected to account for 22% of India’s GDP and produces over 8000 goods and services is undoubtedly one of the more critical components of the Indian economy . Also responsible for over 50% of the employment in the private sector across the country, it is crucial to the socio economic parameters that are so important for the balanced growth of the nation.

External Forces Grounding Indian SME Industry IllustrationAlthough these aggregate numbers look impressive, it is unfortunate to note that a majority of SMEs are operating below their potential. Rajiv Gupta Rajiv Gupta - CEO

An entrepreneurial corporate leader with over 26 years of experience affiliated with the India based operations of global organizations like HCL Technologies, BT Plc, Sprint Inc, IBM Daksh, Amazon, Carbonite, Xerox, Resort Condominium International, EF Johnson's USA, Star Paging Hong Kong and Electrolux.

Mr Gupta conceived, launched and operated the 1st online B-2-B ecommerce solutions in India. Rajiv's core skill set is comprised of strong General Management & P&L Management experience, domestic & global market development, business acquisition, operations strategy& delivery, business transformation, and relationship management. He was responsible for leading the execution and delivery of one of the largest contracts in the Indian BPO industry. He built businesses and successfully led large teams of over 5000 members spread across multiple locations.

He is also a Charter Member of TiE and Secretary General of Institute for World Congress on Human Rights.

 
 
Rajeev Deshpande Rajeev Deshpande - Director Business Strategy

After 10 years in corporate roles at INDAL, Asian Paints and Vam Organics, Rajeev turned entrepreneur. His logistics firm, BA Logistics, handles a turnover of over Rs.400 crores annually for its principals viz. Hindustan Unilever & Asian Paints.

Rajeev is an expert in setting up green field Integrated Logistics & Supply Chain Management solutions including Automation & Mechanization of Warehouses. Channel Selection & Distribution Management in the FMCG Industry is his forte. He has also successfully launched 2 major brands in the country viz. 'INDAL Foil Wrap' and 'VAMICOL' range of adhesives.

A Graduate in Chemistry from Ruia College and an MBA in Marketing from NMIMS University, Mumbai, Rajeev has over 28 years of experience. A keen tennis player, he is also the Vice - President of the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association.

He is also the Visiting Faculty at Symbiosis International University and a member of the MBA program Selection Committee for NMIMS, Symbiosis and Pune Universities.

 
 
P V Ramdas P V Ramdas: Board Advisor Technology

Ramdas brings over 38 years of experience in the IT, telecom and Instrumentation industries spanning areas including business planning, network planning and design, and technology applications, infrastructure and operations.

He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering-communications from IIT, Mumbai and is a fellow of IETE. Pawan Sharma Pawan Sharma - Board Advisor Business Strategy and Customer Experience

As part of the leadership team at KPIT Cummins, Pawan is the President of the Integrated Enterprise Solutions. He is also on the board of KPIT GBS and KPIT UK

With over 20 years of experience, his previous roles have included stints at HP, IBM and HCL and stationing across Europe, North America, South America and Asia. He has headed operations at IBM Software Group for Asia Pacific and was a key contributor in building the global operations & business of HCL BPO. A computer engineer by qualification, he has participated in the ISB-Kellogg Global Advanced Management Program.

Pawan is a philanthropist, was an active member on the Standards Board of JD Powers & Software Support Professional Association USA, PMI USA Board of Special Initiative Group on Strategic Outsourcing, CEO & President of PMI North India Chapter and a TiE Charter Member.
